The band Rupam Bhuyan Unplugged was formed in 2024, initially consisting of vocalist Rupam Bhuyan, guitarist Jim Ankan Deka, and percussionist Rupam Kalita. Later, keyboardist Bhabiram Boro joined, completing the lineup. The band's sound engineer is Kaushik Saikia, and they are managed by Kamal Paran of Mind Garage.

Focusing primarily on contemporary music ranging from folk to fusion, the band has performed at various festivals, including the Folk Tea Festival in Assam, Noida Bihu Celebrations, and Kolkata Rongali Bihu Festival. Their sound is predominantly western acoustic, infused with elements of Indian and Assamese traditional instruments. Rupam Bhuyan Unplugged aims to merge different genres of Indian traditional music, from Ghazals to Assamese contemporary music.

Since its inception, Rupam Bhuyan Unplugged has been weaving musical magic that resonates with the soul. Inspired by a diverse array of musical genres, the band has crafted a sound that is truly distinctive. Renowned for their captivating performances, Rupam Bhuyan Unplugged has emerged as a top choice for events and shows nationwide.

Currently, the band is working on their original compositions, with their debut album set to be released in 2024.
